If you know me, you know how much I DESPISE the dentist. Unfortunately, I was born with an abnormally small mouth (I know, you would never guess it) and the dentist has just always been a terrifying experience for me. However, being a singer, my mouth happens to be my moneymaker and in order for me to get back out into the business, it definitely needed some work.
When I was about 12 years old, I had a pretty bad bike accident in which I fell mouth first onto the pavement of my driveway. Of course, if I would've been wearing a helmet, all would have been ok, but you know kids. Anyway, I knocked out my front tooth, root and all, I pushed the tooth next to it all the way into the back of my mouth, chipped all my front teeth, and dislocated my pallet. Needless to say, it was horrendous to see and took quite the recovery.
Unfortunately, this has caused me to have many problems with those two teeth. When I was in high school, I had two emergency root canals on both of them, and now they are dead and turning color. In the entertainment world, it's not really cool to show up to an audition with two front teeth that are gray.
So here in starts the process. I went to the Dentist today. ick. Anyway, there were numerous things wrong with those two teeth that are going to take quite a bit of money and about a year to fix. However, thus is the life of an entertainer. I'm just choosing to view it as a business expense. Soon, I will have a shiny bright new smile to share with the world along with my voice!
